IOM and STOIC Foundation Forge Strategic Partnership to Strengthen Climate Mobility Solutions
At the 2nd Regional Symposium for Climate Displacement, the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and STOIC Foundation formalised a new partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration marks a significant step forward in advancing sustainable, innovative, and data-driven solutions to address the growing challenges of climate mobility across Asia and the Pacific.

The MoU was signed by Bradley Mellicker, Head of IOM’s Climate Mobility Innovation Lab, and Jeremy Ip, Co-Founder of the STOIC Foundation. Both organisations expressed a shared commitment to supporting vulnerable communities in their adaptation to climate-related impacts through cross-sectoral action and applied innovation.
As part of this partnership, STOIC Foundation will bring forward its Public-Private-Philanthropic Partnership (PPPP) framework, developed with partners We2Sure and UpToEarth. Leveraging planetary systems modelling, high-resolution satellite imagery, artificial intelligence, and next-generation measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) tools, the framework aims to reimagine how insurance, risk management, and resilience strategies can better serve communities most at risk of displacement.
Speaking on the partnership, representatives emphasised that this initiative is more than an agreement—it is a shared vision for a future where insights from cutting-edge technology and innovative finance mechanisms enable adaptation and protection at scale. By combining IOM’s expertise in climate mobility with the STOIC Foundation’s data-driven approaches, the collaboration will drive new models of resilience that ensure no community is left behind in the face of climate change.

This milestone marks a transformative moment in the pursuit of proactive, collaborative, and evidence-based solutions for climate resilience and mobility in the Asia-Pacific region.
