Bangkok, October 6 — STOIC Foundation, together with strategic partners We2Sure and Up2Earth GmbH, was pleased to meet with the team at IOM’s Climate Mobility Innovations Lab (CMIL), Southeast Asia Regional Office. The meeting marked an important milestone in strengthening joint commitment to advancing climate mobility research and deepening the spatial understanding of hazard exposure across vulnerable regions.

Hosted at the IOM – UN Migration premises in Bangkok, the engagement offered an opportunity to align shared goals on improving climate-related data quality for planning and action. CMIL, in partnership with the University of the Philippines Resilience Institute and the Asian Institute of Technology, has developed the Risk Index for Climate Displacement (RICD)—a decision-support tool designed to help governments and stakeholders anticipate climate-induced displacement by combining macro-level data with local insights.
Up2Earth GmbH has contributed to significantly enhancing the granularity and resolution of RICD’s risk maps, supporting more precise assessments of exposure and vulnerability. Alongside CMIL, STOIC Foundation, and We2Sure, the initiative envisions an integrated ecosystem that will scale RICD’s impact and inform smarter, data-driven climate mobility responses.

Beyond its technical and scientific value, the meeting underscored a shared vision for resilience and cooperation. The collaborative spirit demonstrated by all partners reflects a continued drive toward building adaptive systems capable of addressing the complex realities of climate mobility.
